Marla Martin

Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana and raised in Central Texas, Marla Martin is about as southern as a southern girl can be.
At the early age of 3, Marla took the stage at church and singing instantly became her first love. Blessed with musically talented parents who wrote their own music, sang and performed in churches with their band called 'Forgiven', music was a way of life for her. All through the years Marla performed solos in church and with the choir. As a young adult, she started playing guitar and writing her own material. In college, she majored in Music Performance and fed herself by waitressing and winning 1st place prize money in Karaoke contests. At age 23 she was married and had her daughter. She chose to set music aside for a while as she raised her,and her son who was born in a few years later. Marla's love for music and songwriting never faded, and as the children grew and became more independent, she felt the time was right to pursue a career in music again.
In May of 2013 she released her first EP titled 'Smitten' to itunes and most other digital music platforms.
Marla is currently residing near Austin Texas with her husband Jason,and her two kids, Jean-Marie and Conlan Martin. Marla performs all over the Austin and Elgin area, as well as in Nashville TN.
