MARE

The project that has become known as Mare stems from the artistic vision of multifaceted musician John-Kyle Konye's search for a more expressive and impressive art form than some more common trends of electronic music. Mare separates himself from the traditional sense of a DJ by playing only original tracks and catering more to the idea of performance than to that of party. The intention of Mare's performance is to create a world of sound so immersive that the focus of the audience is upon the beauty of the compositions. Mare's roots are deeply classical with notable inspirations such as Debussy, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff, showing resemblance not in instrumentation but rather in voicing, creating clearly defined harmonies that soothe the soul. The live aspect of the performances come from the seamless changes created by truly innovative keyboard composition written and played at every performance. Solo sections and lead melodies performed with solid technical execution through evident refinery and practice dominate a good portion of the song selection in any given live performance. The soundscape of Mare is a unique and almost exclusive experience as the live show currently consists of mostly unreleased tracks. Mare has given many performances across New York, most recently debuting the Mare Live Album while headling the 2017 edition of the annual Knowlesstock Festival at SUNY Potsdam on May 11th. An electronic performance of this sort is an invitation to an innovative aural experience like no other.
