Introducing Love Rat, a captivating band from Birmingham, Alabama, the brainchild of Mandi Rae Trott and Warren Amos, two extraordinary songwriters who have been making music together for years. Their musical chemistry is undeniable, and they have assembled a hard-working group of musicians to bring their vision to life on stage.
With over 20 years of music-making under her belt, Mandi's sultry voice and Warren's evocative guitar, have created a spellbinding sonic experience that defies all labels. Backing them up is the phenomenal Derek Nolin on keys, the incomparable Nic Herring on drums, and the talented Jonathon Breland on bass, whose influence is evident in the way their music continues to evolve and surprise audiences. Michael Shackleford also graces their debut album, "Howl at the Moon," with his presence.
Drawing inspiration from a range of styles, including old-school country, blues, rock and roll, rap, psychedelic rock, and folk, their sound is a heady mix of all things innovative yet nostalgic.
With a fresh and familiar sound, Mandi's soulful and powerful vocals, Warren's intricate and captivating guitar work, Derek's keyboard skills that take their sound to the next level, and Jonathon's solid bass playing, the band creates a unique sonic experience.
When they're not on stage, Mandi and Warren are partners in life and music. They live in Leeds, Alabama, and made a point to record this project locally with Eric Watters of Dreamcatcher Studios, who lends his magical touch to each song in different ways. The stellar artwork of Merrilee Challiss graces the album cover and grabs your attention immediately.
