Los Tamales Jazz Band is a jazz fusion group based out of Oak Lawn, IL, that specializes in blending the traditions of dynamic improvisation and complex harmony of jazz music with Latin genres, funk, and hip-hop. The ensemble performs a diverse blend of original compositions and hard-hitting classic jazz and funk covers reimagined in a unique style.
Los Tamales is made of up trumpets, trombones, saxophones, and a vocalist backed up by a powerful 3-4 piece rhythm section.
Their debut album Tamales a La Carte was recently featured on 90.9FM WDCB Jazz, the largest jazz station in the Chicagoland area, and 88.5FM Jazz, the largest jazz station in Minneapolis and one of the highest rated jazz stations in the entire United States.
