"The Voice recap: The coaches throw down saves and steals like crazy"

This was another very easy decision, between Lisa Ramey, who finally got everyone vibing during her rock star performance and the muted effort by Karen Galeria. Kelly Clarkson compliments Karen for being hardworking and encourages her to continue with her bilingual music, but she’s not willing to spend her save to keep her around for the next round. - Entertainment Weekly

"‘THE VOICE’ SEASON 16, EPISODE 10 BATTLES RECAP: WHO WON, LEFT AND GOT STOLEN?"

First up are Team Legend’s rock mistresses, Lisa Ramey and Betsy Ade. The two will be performing “The Joke” by Brandi Carlile. Kahlid says Lisa’s voice is “capturing.” John says Betsy’s is full of raw energy. The coaches advise both singers to get in touch with their emotions for this performance.

Lisa starts out the performance strong. Her lows are flawless. Betsy kicks in with the second line with a kind of sing talking reminiscent of the Indigo Girls. When Lisa moved into the chorus, she seemed to take over the stage. The battle was really close but Lisa may have slightly edged out Betsy with her range and stage presence.

“I was so into the both of you,” said Adam.

“That moment couldn’t have been more magical," said Blake.

"Everything you two just did was so powerful … it was literally a blessing to watch both of you," said Kelly.

"You showed me you both belonged on this stage," said John.

It was a tough battle but in the end, John declared Lisa Ramey the winner of the battle. - Newsweek

"Singer Lisa Ramey Has An Amazing Comeback on The Voice"

You might remember Lisa Ramey from her audition last year on The Voice and now she’s back on the show for season 16!

Lisa didn’t get any coaches to turn a chair last year, but she had an amazing comeback this time with her performance of the Kings of Leon song “Sex on Fire.”

John Legend, who is the only coach not on the show last season, turned his chair at the last second and landed Lisa as a contestant on his team.

It was serendipitous as Lisa expressed in her interview that she wanted to be on John‘s team. We can’t wait to see how far she’ll go this season. - JustJared

"Singer Lisa Ramey Gets A Second Chance On ‘The Voice’ — And Nails It!"

Regular viewers of “The Voice” will recall mohawked singer Lisa Ramey, who took a shot in a blind audition last season.

Unfortunately, Ramey wasn’t able to get the show’s coaches interested, with none of them turning around their red swivel chairs.

That was not the case this season when Ramey returned for a do-over — to say she was ready for her second chance is an understatement.

Taking to the stage a second time, Ramey delivered a scorching rendition of Kings of Leon’s “Sex on Fire” during Monday’s 16th season premiere, enticing rookie coach John Legend to swivel around and land her as a contestant on his team. You can watch her performance in the video above.

In an amazing coincidence, in Ramey’s interview she declared that if she could choose, she’d be on Team Legend — and now she’s got her chance!

Bio

NYC-based Lisa Ramey is a multitalented singer-songwriter & recording artist whose voice defies categorization. She exudes gritty soul and passion, a funk-meets-r&b vibe that emphatically captures her St. Louis roots.

Growing up in St. Louis, and performing since the age of nine, Ramey performed 11 consecutive seasons at The Muny, America's oldest and largest outdoor theater. Since moving to New York City, Ramey fronted a wildly popular funk-soul band (SugarBad), has graced Broadway stages, toured the world with Cirque du Soleil as the Soul Singer in KOOZA, and had her television debut singing backup on HBO's original series, VINYL.

Ramey was invited to audition for Season 16 of NBC's The Voice. On its season premiere, Lisa joined EGOT and multi-platinum recording artist John Legend's team and advanced to the Playoff Rounds (Top 24, Legend's top 6) of the show. Her rendition of "The Weight" by The Band debuted at #64 on Apple Music's R&B Charts where she trended to a top 25 song within the first 24 hours of its release. Due to her popularity on the show, she took the stage on the finale to sing in an all-female "super group" of fan favorites from Season 16. In July of 2019, NBC's Songland requested Ramey cover "Hurt Me", originally performed by Meghan Trainor.

In July, 2019, Lisa was named one of Soho House New York's featured recording artists and was given the opportunity to perform for members and guests as a part of their monthly "House Session" program, to a packed house in the House's famed "Vinyl Room". In August she played the DO|AC's Atlantic City Boardwalk Summer Series and travelled to Canada as the solo act of a charity concert. After a busy September of private shows and fashion week events, she will sing at the iconic Joe's Pub at The Public Theater in October.

In addition to her regular gigs, Lisa hosts NBC's The Voice monthly NYC Open Mic at Rockwood Music Hall.

Her debut album, SURRENDER, drops 3/27 with her first single, You Ain't My Friend, released on 2/28.
