Johnny Schaefer

Johnny Schaefer is an eclectic Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter. He has a BA in Music (Composition and Voice) from California State University, Fullerton. He has sung backup for Melissa Manchester, Josh Groban, Sarah Vaughan, Pete Townsend, Billy Idol, Diahann Carroll, and others. He was a Semi-Finalist in four categories in the 2020 UK Songwriting Competition and is currently a Semi-Finalist in the 2021 contest in two categories.  He has collaborated with Producer Stephan Oberhoff (Heartbeat Brazil), Bram Stoker Award-winning author and lyricist Elizabeth Massie, best-selling author Marianne Williamson, Carol Robbins-jazz harpist, Christoph Bull, Paul the Trombonist, Chad Ellis, Gary Stockdale, Wenndy MacKenzie, Steven Cagan, George Riech, and composer Lynn Kowal. He has been a cantor and soloist at Blessed Sacrament Church in Hollywood since 1981. He is married to his videographer, Paco Silva. Johnny’s new release of his song, You Can’t Hide the Light features GRAMMY Award-winner Melissa Manchester is now available. Ms. Manchester is also a recent recipient of the American Songbook Hall of Fame New Standard Award presented by Michael Feinstein. Of Johnny's song she says:
