Jessica Weinberg

Jessica Weinberg’s story is unique for a songwriter. She was born with a combination of heart defects and after some early struggles, was also diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Instead of allowing her disability to be a hindrance, she let it be a motivator for her success.

And succeed, she has. Jessica obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing in 2004 and a Juris Doctor in 2007. The written word has always been Jessica’s expressive outlet and she has been a published author in several journals, magazines, and newspapers. Using the skills she learned in school and in life, she works as a Legal Researcher, has worked and volunteered with  many non-profits, and is known in her community as an often-effective advocate for public transportation. Still, her passion is in her lyrics.

Jessica listened to country music as a young teen and was drawn to the lyrics being sung by '90s superstars such as Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, and George Strait. She soon began writing her own songs and brought with her a unique perspective on life, love, heartache, and struggle that can only come from overcoming potentially life-threatening health conditions and living with disabilities. She strives to tackle slices of life not often addressed in music and takes different approaches to the usual topics.

Jessica is a member of several songwriter organizations including Global Songwriters Connection and NSAI and has been a semi-finalist and finalist in the VH-1 Song of the Year Competition. Jessica’s focus within the music industry is crystal clear; she is bringing her mastery of the written word to life through lyrics.
