Bio
A fusion of alternative country, rock n’roll, and everything in between—Jacob can often be found at the local bar either playing on a barstool, or with his former band, The Broken Spokes.
He has spent the last 6 years of his life playing gigs all across the Midwest. Growing up on a ranch near Keldron, SD, you could say Jacob was heavily influenced by the am radio, but his real passion for music began with the discovery of heavy metal (only later rediscovering country). His music career started at the age of 15 when he began jamming to AC/DC and System of A Down covers with his childhood friend and drummer, Kyle Maier. These two would later form the band, The Broken Spokes, that would eventually become Jacob's vehicle for learning about the music business and the prospects of a "real" career. His band was successful both as headliners and as opening acts for national artists. As a songwriter and a solo artist, Jacob has been proactive in the developing music scene in the Black Hills of SD. His songwriting is heavily influenced by the artists of the Red Dirt music scene, Eric Church, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sturgill Simpson, Jamey Johnson, along with classic country legends. Alongside his original songs, Jacob pairs gritty covers of “bar anthems”, making him a favorite among the drinking crowd. In his time away from music, Jacob likes to work on the family ranch, hunt, fish, ride his motorcycle, and discuss politics over a beer.
Jacob is currently spending the majority of his time on his solo career: writing, gigging, and networking.
