Local Oswego band Jackie Islands has been playing shows throughout the greater Chicagoland area since 2015, bringing their dreamy, dark wave beach pop to reputed indie venues including the Subterranean Downstairs, the House Cafe in DeKalb, and the Elbo Room. Ethereal soundscapes fuse with rock-fueled drum beats and jazz inspired guitar licks to accompany the longing lyrics of an unnamed wanderer on a quest to discover oneself. With influences from the Beatles and Led Zepplin to newer artists like Modest Mouse, Beach House and Baroness, Jackie Islands brings a fresh take on the indie sound, a little of this, a little of that, and blends it all into a dreamy landscape for fans.
