Hupp

The juxtaposition of an aggressive, unrelenting delivery and a passive, often positive lyrical content perfectly describes the CEO of Subversive Sound Syndicate, the unmistakable Hupp. Addressing issues ranging from the personal to the worldly, and tackling each one with a triumphant approach, Hupp has a history of turning to his musical talents into a therapy.

From his first efforts fronting the heavy rock band Trench in the late 1990′s, his endeavors with Hybrid as the duo Juxtapoze (which later, briefly, became a full live ensemble incorporating other musicians-winners of the Headliner’s Music Hall Battle of the Bands in 2008), to the solo work and time spent acting also acting as the engineer for the Subversive Sound Syndicate studio, Hupp has always had a hand in the local music scene. His accomplishments are many. He has been featured on such efforts as three Juxtapoze albums; Serotonin, Dopamine, and Serotonin 2, and also appeared with Knowledge & Hybrid starring in The Writers Guild. He has taken the stage on several events, including the coming of Wu-Tang Clan to Louisville, KY., two years of Woodshock Festivals with the live Juxtapoze band (featuring Filter and Hed PE), the Tech N9ne “All 6′s and 7′s Tour, and more.

He has formulated and promoted many local shows for the area, such as a series of rap/rock events, which combine talents of both genres into one spectacle, several food drive events, contributed to the local Hustle N Flow hip-hop showcase series, and worked with handfuls of artists in Kentucky. He is currently behind the boards and overseeing upcoming projects such as a new solo endeavour; “The Man In Black”, as well as a group EP with the very talented Proc hailing from Louisville, Kentucky.
