Bio

Born and raised in New York City’s very own Chelsea Elliot Projects in the lower westside section of Manhattan comes a underground artist with incredible lyrical wordplay and story telling ablilty his name is “Frank Castle”. Coming from a Hispanic family of Puerto Rican heritage, Castle always had an interest in hip-hop. At an early age around six years old by listening to “Crossroads” by Bone Thugz N Harmony, Rakim’s “I Ain’t No Joke” & Kool G Rap’s “Men At Work” for the first time which branched off to be inspired by other artist such as ‘Big Pun,Notorious B.I.G.,Big L, 2pac and also Nas”. Castle began writing his own lyrics and rhymes at twelve years of age. He first discovered he had a gift when he started spittin’ in a cypher with his friends in the neighborhood he grew up in. With heavy hip-hop influences at a young age Castle first stepped into the studio when he was only ten years old, with no paper or pen he recorded his first track with fellow underground artists he grew up with. He even shot a music video which appeared on MNN several times. The engineer at the session noticed something different in Castle. His wordplay and his lyrical content were amazing for his age. He asked “And he’s only ten spittin like that?” his wittiness and lyrical content showed in the songs he recorded, the way he put words together, his lyrical wordplay, his flow, and the way he told a story at such a young age. His father passed away when he was only fourteen years old. In which he suffered a terrible loss that was the turning point in Castle’s life putting more pain and struggle into his music. That same year he had made a phone call to his childhood friend ‘Dubz Leeroy’(E-Dubz at the time) to record and collaborate on a song with him. The two linked up and collaborated which was a success. Dubz Leeroy suggested they start a group called NBC aka ‘Natural Born Criminalz’ (Now known as H.O.O.D. Brothers) to Castle. He agreed and they have been making music together ever since. They recruited several others from the same block they lived in and made the group even bigger Which suddenly became a movement, Recording new songs, doing shows and open mic performances. Now at the age of twenty-five, Castle hopes to fulfill his dream as a MC and as a hip hop artist and give him and the H.O.O.D. Brothers the exposure they deserve, and bring that “New York sound” back to hip-hop.
