Músico venezolano que comenzo su formación musical a la edad de 13 años en una pequena escuela de la ciudad de Valencia. Atendió a escuelas como el Emil Friemdan donde estudio Percusion Orquestal. También estudió en el IUDEM (Instituto Universitario de Estudios Musicales) desde el 2005 hasta el 2010, donde tuvo como profesor de batería a Willy Díaz, paralelamente vio clases con los profesores Vladimir Quintero y Diego Maldonado. Tambien se desempeñó como Profesor de Percusión en el Colegio Emil Friedman desde el 2006 hasta el 2010, y Profesor de Batería en el Taller de Jazz Caracas desde el 2009 al 2010. En Venezuela tocó con artistas como Pablo Gil, Diego El Negro Alvarez, Gillese Grivolla, Rodner Padilla, entre otros.

En el 2010 se gana una beca a la prestigiosa escuela Berklee College of Music en Boston a la cual actualmente atiende. Ha tenido el honor de estudiar con Terri Lyne Carrington, Jon Hazilla, Kim Plainfield. También ha tenido la oportunidad de tocar en salas como Boston Symphony Hall, Boston University Agganis Arena, City Hall Plaza, entre otras, y con artistas como Javier Limon, Pepe de Lucia, Genara Cortes, Carlos Averhoff Jr., Fernando Huergo, Bruce Gertz, Kevin Harris.

Actualmente estudia dos carreras simultaneamente en Berklee. Film Scoring & Performance (Composicion para Peliculas-TV y Ejecucion Instrumental.

Bio

Born in Venezuela, Fabio Rojas is a Drummer/Composer & Film Composer.  
Since arriving in the U.S. in 2010, Rojas has performed/worked with artists such as Terri Lyne Carrington, Geri Allen, Greg Osby, Bill Pierce, Sean Jones, Kevin Harris, Fernando Huergo, John Lockwood, Oscar Stagnaro, Pepe de Lucia, Javier Limon, among others, in venues such as Boston's Symphony Hall, Lincoln Center, Scullers Jazz Club, Smoke Jazz Club, and South by Southwest SXSW, among many others.

He earned his Bachelor of Music in Performance and in Professional Music at Berklee College of Music where he was mentored by Terri Lyne Carrington, Kim Plainfield and Neal Smith. Right after graduation, he was hired as a staff member at Berklee.

As an artist, Rojas strives to live up to the following Victor Hugo quote: "Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.” 

Before moving to the U.S., he studied jazz performance at the Instituto Universitario de Estudios Musicales while giving lessons on the drum set at the Taller de Jazz Caracas and concert percussion at the Colegio/Conservatorio Emil Friedman. He also worked with acclaimed Venezuelan musicians such as Pablo Gil, Diego Alvarez, and Gonzalo Teppa, among many others.

Beginnings:
Fabio began his musical studies on drums at the of 13 in a small music school in his hometown Valencia. At the age of 15 he moved to Caracas and started his Concert Percussion studies at the “Colegio Emil Friedman” School.

While his studies in IUDEM (now called UNEARTE) in Caracas city, Rojas studied with Willy Diaz and other great instructors. He also studied with renown latin percussionist Vladimir Quintero (GUACO), and also was part of the percussion line in the orchestra “Arcos Juveniles de Caracas” where he performed for the next 4 years, playing in one of the greatest halls in Venezuela “Teatro Teresa Carreno”. Besides studying in the IUDEM, Rojas studied and was mentored by drummer Diego Maldonado for three years, right before leaving Venezuela.

Fabio has been involved giving master classes for the public in such events as Berklee Percussion Days (Spring 2014), Grooversity Percussion Fetival, Sommerville High School.
