"Fusion Anomaly"

"hard-hitting, edgy electronic bits, futuristic, bleak, hypnotically repetitive big beats, journalistic voyaging through the form of sampled quotes taken from philosophers, cult films or old news broadcasts. A nod to to classic industrial music fusing it with the rhythms of hip hop, the abrasive textures of the noise scene and the intensity of post-metal acts."

"The Equal Ground"

"History of Illusion is an often cold and desolate sounding record, though it also has moments of classic and catchy electronic beats and loops. However it is likely that many people who are politically unconscious or for whom the world of electronic music is not something they gravitate towards will find History of Illusion a disturbing and ear shattering manifesto created by a crazy person, much like the clean cut hard working Americans of the sixties dismissed the message of peace and love that the hippies were trying to preach. Though had they listened then History of Illusion never would have been made. Perhaps history is meant to repeat itself, if solely for the purpose of making art."

"Psychedelic Review"

“I’m a big fan of ‘real’ mind-altering music. To me the problem with most of this kind of music, is that the truly spicy stuff, often is also very dark. I find that frightning ’cause this music can, if you allow it, get into your mind and emotional state in a very intense way. Now it’s great if what you allow to get in is the good aspects. Most of the material in those days were made by lost, frustrated, and desperate people, so often is their music. A truly dark psychedelic piece can sort of get to you and make you feel that dark nastiness. Maybe that’s the problem overly sensitive people like me have to deal with, just like the darker trips… not all of us can handle them. The material on this album struck me as intensively trippy and creepy.”

"Brain Trust"

"The one-man band plays in the same sandbox as COIL and Trent Reznor’s other band, How To Destroy Angels, which takes its name from a COIL song. Fusing cold synths and unique storytelling, the band aims to set foot on the set of Blade Runner and become the strip bar’s house band. Soulless automatons be damned!"

"The Cosmic Mind"

'Waiting' feels like you were dropped off in some abandon mental institution and upon entering you hear some eerie musical ambiance in the distance. You are intrigued to find where the source of this sound generates and protrude into every room closer and closer to its proximity… and just when you think you’ve found the source at the foot of it’s door, it disappears into the cold, dreary darkness in the realms of human torture and control. - Rik Clay of The Cosmic Mind -

"A Breathtaking Landscape"

A really great album. A soundtrack for the thinkers that challenges the media, the overabundance of technology, and the definitions of personal freedoms. Informative, experimental, and aesthetically satisfying. There is an appreciation for the use of psychedelics while acknowledging our global responsibility. - Mike Lisse -

Bio

Electric Caves is a post-industrial act from Long Island, NY formed in 2009. It wasn’t until 2011 that the band would release their debut full length Solace Furnace Transformation. The album cracked into diverse homes from within government whistleblowers, environmental groups, anarchists, and the entheogen community alike.

Upon networking within those communities, Electric Caves has been invited as an artist to participate in Horizons: Perspectives On Psychedelics, Hour Of The Time’s East Coast Researchers Conference, Occupy Wall St. NYC’s Think-Tank, The NYC Anarchist Book Fair,  Yasgur Farm's Woodstock Reunion and the distressed rust-belt town of Braddock, PA.

The group continues to captivate live audiences sharing the stage with a diverse range of acts including Rosetta, Helmet, Orgy and CX KidtroniK (Atari Teenage Riot, Saul Williams/Trent Reznor collaborator). On September 21st, 2014, History of Illusion found itself a DIY-release with further exploration into the psych through the realms of post industrial, illbient, dark ambient, drone, krautrock, big beat, shoegaze, and world music. 2015 will see the band working with legendary Martin Bisi (Swans, Sonic Youth) of BC Studios on their follow up record with James Plotkin (ISIS, Jesu, Earth) handling the mastering. Past releases saw production collaborations with mastering engineer Tim Donovan (Wu-Tang, Erykah Badu).
