Raised off the west coast of Florida, singer/songwriter Donny Van Slee realized at a young age that music was more than just a passion - it was his life’s art. After graduating high school in 2011, Donny started to perform at local restaurants, tiki huts, and breweries. His music continued to grow, so one morning, he quit his day job and pursued his shows.
Just how Van Slee's favorite artist Jack Johnson went to film school before touring world-wide, Donny is determined to do the same. However, not film school but chiropractor school. In 2018 Donny left his hometown for Palmer College of Chiropractic, located in Daytona Beach, Florida. While learning how to optimize the human nervous system with chiropractic adjustments, Donny continues to perform and spread his music across Florida.
On December 25, 2020, Van Slee released his first single, "For You." Donny wrote the song the night before his brother's wedding in an attempt to capture the perspective of their whole family about his brother getting married so young.
Donny's music, a blend of folk and country music with touches of blues, is imbued with a deep fascination of the meaning of life and his faith in Christianity. This powerful symbiosis continues to foster a deep connectivity with his growing fan base.
