Dona Nova was formed in 2015 by Manny Sanchez, a music major at San Diego State University. After playing as a guitarist with several local bands and touring the west coast, Manny felt that it was high time to start his own project with fellow musician and drummer Luis Ochoa. Together with guitarist Ian Pryor and Bassist Aaron Jaglowski, they are producing a bold blend of in-your-face guitar rock with a hint of the blues, metal, and other genres that have influenced them over the years. In their short time as a musical force, Dona Nova has been gaining momentum on local sites such as Facebook, Souncloud, and ReverbNation thanks to the support of fans on social media and throughout the local music scene.
