Bio
Dishonest Escape was founded in 2014 by vocalist Zaffy Matthews and first drummer David Saldana. The NYC based group has a heavy sound that can't quite be categorized into any single predominant genre. With influences ranging from Hip Hop to Djent, they deliver a sound that is intriguing and engaging. Their presence demands attention, with their fierce performances and eerie, borderline grotesque lyrics that deal with world issues, personal traumas, and struggles that many can relate to.
In the Summer of 2017, they started off Summer Slaughter at Webster Hall, and have since had the pleasure of performing with bands of varying genres, such as Jinjer, Lorna Shore, and The Last Ten Seconds of Life to name a few.
Dishonest Escape released an 8 track EP titled ‘Vivid’ on July 9, 2021, and performed it in its entirety during their first headlining show in Brooklyn New York.
Blending various musical backgrounds and talents into a metal mesh of cosmic power and brutality with just the right amount of elegance, Dishonest Escape is an in-your-face injection of illumination and introspection. Out of this world vocals, sonic riffs, pulse pounding drums, and heart racing bass come together to pull you out of yourself, out of this world, and into theirs.
