"A Song For A Cause"

PENN TWP — A Butler County band is raising money to support military veterans and their families through a new song.

Dinnerbell Road is a duo formed in 2015 consisting of Shawn “Cookie” Moore and Bob “Big Daddy” Goodlin.

Both men live in the county, and they named their group after the road they take to drive to each others' houses, Moore said.

Both men play acoustic guitar and sing in the group.

Their new song “Yellow Footprints” is being released on Veterans Day and half of the proceeds will go to the It's About the Warrior Foundation in Evans City. The song was professionally recorded with a backing band.

The foundation provides veterans in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio with housing and home improvement assistance, therapy and connecting with fellow veterans.

Moore, a West Virginia native who served in the Marine Corps for four years after graduating from high school, said the lyrics to “Yellow Footprints” are largely biographical.

It tells the story of a man who enlists in the Marines on his 18th birthday and is sent to boot camp on Parris Island, S.C.

“I think it's a pretty powerful song that can help people. It honors veterans and the things they go through,” Moore said.
