DDFRx

Currently residing in Rockland County, New York, DDFRx (Daily Dope Fix Pharmacy), is quickly becoming one of the most versatile groups on the rise. The trio has made it their goal to uplift listeners with their real life experiences and unique ideas by embracing the concept of using their songs to cure everyday struggles. As an alternative to drugs, listeners are able to choose their high from an eclectic DDFRx library; a fans proverbial musical medicine cabinet.   

The group consists of MC Ryan Rivera and MC Michael Marotta originating from Queens and the Bronx, NY, and producer/vocalist Eric Ficocelli of Pomona, NY. DDFRx grew up on a variety of Hip-Hop music including A Tribe Called Quest, Big Pun, NAS, and Jay-Z, which were all introduced to them by relatives and their surroundings. These influences become obvious when listening to their no holds barred, New York style of rap. 

The group holds themselves to a high standard of creativity as they strive to relate to their fans and stay true to their story. High production quality is a constant with each release, due to their eclectic sound selection and ability to reinvent themselves. This is seen on their track, “Love Like This,” from their upcoming project, “PATINA,” combining early 90s house sounding production accompanied by a raw, meaningful verse about the dangers of love. 

Although the group prides itself in working in-house and have yet to collaborate with other artists, it hasn’t stopped the group’s vast growth of attention. DDFRx’s track, “I Need It,” accumulated over 290,000 views while being featured on Rap Nation’s Youtube channel, helping the group spread their messages even further. As the group continues to release more music, it’s expected that they will attract more fans that crave authentic, raw, dope records, which the Pharmacy will provide. 

While the trio has had success with each release, the fruits of their labor did not come without sacrifice. With a child at home, Michael has been forced to find a balance between his passion for music and being a devoted father to his newborn son. Ryan, determined to be the first to graduate college in his family, has made the difficult decision to give his studies the backseat while working and actively pursuing a career in music. Out of urgent necessity, Eric has taught himself how to write, produce, perform and engineer a song into completion, as well as shoot, edit and design all of the group’s artwork and videos. Eric also quit a steady job with promise of growth in exchange for freelance videography and recording engineering, in order to devote more time to making his musical career dreams a reality. Each member of DDFRx is fueled by passion and dedicated to giving their listeners what they need.
