"Dama Nilz “Black Couch” Album Review"

The beauty of this project is the perfect blend between the artist and the producer, the energy on all the songs and the general vibe of the project are all just masterfully put together and executed.

Dama Nilz is an artist that’s been on the scene in NYC putting in work for a few years now, making plenty of noise in the underground with her singles and videos exhibiting her skill level and her personality. If you hadn’t heard of her before, you’re gonna hear her loud and clear now. She’s put out other projects, but something about this one that feels as if though she’s reached a culmination of what she’s done and learned so far. Paired with Ayy Pii, who’s production is ahead of his time, the two have achieved something special with this album. - MCMI report

"Dama Nilz: From Jimmy Fallon to Applebee's to Warped Tour"

Arguably the hardest working woman in New York hip-hop, Dama Nilz's struggle is as heartbreaking as it is inspiring. Nilz has been a fixture of the underground rap scene despite life throwing her curveballs in-between her home-runs. Last winter she performed on "Jimmy Fallon," that spring she hit hard times and had to get a job at Applebee's, and that summer she got invited to perform on Warped Tour. The following winter she had to go back to hustling. She performs Friday, May 23rd, at Tobacco Road. We caught up with her to discuss the constant challenges of gaining acceptance as a female in an already competitive New York hip-hop scene, and how she began directing her own videos. - Village Voice

"Dama Nilz – Casa Blanca"

Brooklyn Hip-Hop Queen Dama Nilz, born Anelia Lomsky has cooked up some grade-A tracks and top-shelf lyricism in the official video for “Casa Blanca”. Stemming from the ‘Black Couch’ album, percussion heavy-trap beats play over a Breaking Bad parody music video. With a number of appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and performing for the East Coast Warped Tour, the New York artist has set the new framework for Hip-Hop. Dama’s iconic tomboyish appearance and hard-core lyrical raps defines her as strong leading female who isn’t afraid of her strong voice and doing it in style. Despite her history of self-destructivity, Dama Nilz rises above the struggle and conquers as a fierce successful artist. View below. - Hofisbetter

"Dama Nilz' Road Trip Goes Wrong On "Semi Automatic (The Muvie)""

This may be the most enslaving joint yet from Brooklyn emcee Dama Nilz. The Coney Island native has laced just about every locale in the 5 Boroughs and is fresh off a solid SXSW. But in terms of sheer songwriting, “Semi Automatic” comes complete with an obsessive hook and a melody serene enough to mask the pain. The visual’s impressive, too. Dama calls this a “modern Thelma & Louise with a twist.” Let’s just say things work out better for these two beauties than it did for Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon. Take a watch above, share your thoughts in the community section, and prepare to keep this one on repeat.

"Dama Nilz Channels Powerful Women In New Video ‘All Hail Dama’"

Brooklyn’s own Dama Nilz is a jack of all trade.

As an MC, producer, musician and film director, Nilz is a one-stop shop kind of entertainer who had to overcome many obstacles, including living in group homes and homelessness, just to live out her dream.
No stranger to hip-hop, Nilz has released three well-received mixtapes and videos, but now, the Brooklynite is gearing up for the release of her full-length untitled independent album.

The lead single “All Hail Dama” finds the femcee channeling the spirit of history’s most powerful women including Cleopatra. As she shows off her lyrical prowess, Dama Nilz proves she isn’t playing nice and is taking no prisoners. - VIBE

"Brooklyn Artist New Vid Is About The Power Of Friendship Between Women"

Underground artist Dama Nilz takes us on the road for her new video, “Semi Automatic.”

Fresh off of her performance at South By Southwest last month, the New York hip hop artist has released her new video, “Semi Automatic.”

Dama told BOSSIP that the concept for the video was an urban Thelma and Louise. Her best friend and co-star Janessa Rose came up with the idea, and the pair shot it over two days in Kissimmee, FL.

“The video is about friendship and women,” Dama told us. “A modern day urban twist on Thelma and Louise. It’s about the bond between women.”

We watch the girls embark on an epic road trip – and get caught up with drama on the drive.

“Semi Automatic” is on her new album, “#Damanation,” which is available on iTunes, Spotify and Youtube. - Bossip

"Song of the Day- Dama Nilz "Devito""

For the uninitiated, South Brooklyn rapper Anelia Lomsky has been stirring up a gumbo of hot-headed mentality and sun-baked Southern styles for the better part of the last decade, under her stage name Dama Nilz. Dama’s irreverent, criminal-minded lyricism and well-disciplined sense of flow just seems to keep getting better and better over time, and she’s playing off that trademark fierce-but-cute dichotomy once again on a brand new single.

With the help of Lil Wayne producer Avenue Beatz, this local idol pays tribute to her favorite Pesci-Scorsese monologue and doesn’t come up short on, “Devito”!

Discography

South Brooklyn's own Dama Nilz is back with a new song and video titled "Devito".Known for her authentic "DGAF" attitude and clever bars, Dama doesn't hold back on this one. Clearly expressing how influenced she is by the Late 90s, Early 2000's era of Hip Hop, she pays homage to gangsta classics like The Lox's "Kiss Your Ass Goodbye", 50 Cent's "Heat", and every song since Biggie that used "Bring Em Out". Devito is produced by Swizz Beatz' Protégé  Avenue Beatz, whose credits include "Uproar" and "Glory" for Lil Wayne. The video by XienHow (TeamDoneSon)showcases Dama in her natural element; solo, being a kind of mafia boss. You're not quite sure if you want to get "in bed" with the likes of her, because the repercussions of crossing Dama seem frightening. With bars like, "They sinking whole Titanic's cause how loose they lips, you might not really learn your lesson til you lose some limbs", Dama lets you know she may have matured since her teenage debut, but some things never change.
