A bold proclamation that lets the world know Cyph is not trying to be the next (insert your favorite rapper).  

Cypha Ixous (born Jolon Franklin) posses many talents but his greatest skill is the ability to make it all seem effortless. Even with the innate abilities to command a crowd or utilize words to unwrap a perplexing plot on top of radio ready rhythms, Cyph works to be even better. When Cyph looks back he wants to enjoy the view knowing he had nothing left to give.

Even though Cyph grew up in a musical family the passion for music did not move him until he attended an urban leadership conference in Tampa, Florida in (2009). Seeing rap artists illuminating on 70-foot screens and feeling the energy of the room pulsating within him, Cyph was born. He returned to his hometown of Roselle, NJ and went to work. Using a microphone and minimal recording gear in the basement of a church, he began his journey to success by releasing several popular singles such as Freedom and Over Everything and performing in dozen of venues in the tri-state area.  Cyph quickly built a reputation as a talented rapper and even a better performer and was constantly called upon to perform at showcases and local mics throughout New Jersey. In 2013, Cyphs showman abilities led him to perform in front of 9,000+ in East Rutherford, NJ.

Cyph purposefully sets out to challenge the existing culture, determined to bring about a new regime.Take your box out of mine, they tried to put me in one but I boxed out of mine, Cyph heralds in 9th Symphony. Finding a label that fully quantifies his sound or his movement is futile so he prefers to operate without one. His music relates to the masses, which can be validated with one glance into the audience of one of Cyphs shows. You might find yourself standing next to a teenager, college student or grown adult but all are mesmerized by the show. Cyph can be found on stage doing what he does best, making it look so easy.
