"DEADMAU5 – SOME CHORDS (CLAMR REMIX) FEATURING KYD AYO"

San Diego, California underground has been very chatty lately about the hot up and coming Electro Hop producer Clamr bringing a refreshing new sound to EDM. Today the newcomer produces a remix joint over Deadmau5’s popular “Some Chords” in an competitive effort for the hitmaker official remix contest.

California indie Kyd Ayo provides the catchy wordplay for the remix effort. Clamr and Ayo have frequently collaborated on several other records scheduled to be released on Ayo’s upcoming debut EP, We’ve Met Before, set to hit the net March 27th. Hit the play above and stay tuned for more from Clamr as it comes available. - EShock Radio

"“Originality is a thing we constantly clamour for, and constantly quarrel with.”"

The Victorian thinker and writer Thomas Carlyle was talking about originality, rather than the clamour itself. But originality is a path strewn with dead ends and by-ways that go nowhere. Sometimes the road more travelled is where peace lies. San Diego artist Clamr has his High LP out which takes a range of house and electronic influences, including Giorgio and Daft Punk to produce a West Coast version of French house. Free download.

The High LP has a sort of familiarity to the house sounds. What it does is put together uplifting French disco, with a bit of piano and squally treated guitar on 92101 to give something that wouldn’t feel out of place in a Daft Punk set. There’s an upliftingness to it all that makes you smile. The title track is another good ‘un. Has that same positive outlook in the main synth line but backed with a multi-tracked vocal in the background. A more complex track but still makes you smile. Both tracks are free download and are included below. I’ve also added the link to the whole LP, if you want to explore further. - Acid Ted

"CLAMR"

I have been absolutely slammed this week with work so slammed that I'm late on this weeks Ilictromix. Lucky for me, this weeks Ilictromix artist CLAMR has put together a mix so great it made my weekend hustle manageable. Seriously this mix for me has been like a jolt of espresso after an all nighter.

A 24 year old from San Diego, Liam McManus is a Dj/Producer you should all keep on your radar this week. A quick glance at the tracklist reveals a super diverse and eccentric taste in a wide variety of genres. I picked him this week because of his love for a great well thought out set: "In my opinion, this mix really describes me as a person and as an artist. I love low-key but upbeat jams, that can get the party bumping, but can also be listened to on chill night in." When asked what he listens to: "I've been stuck on Neon Indian - Era Extraña, Washed Out - Life of Leisure and Party Supplies - Going Back To New York for a couple months now. I Also just picked up Daft Punk's Discovery on vinyl, so I've been rocking out to that recently as well."

CLAMR has been DJing for 8 years and producing for 7 of them. He told me if he wasn't producing he would be playing ice hockey. I for one am glad he choose Dj'ing.
