Bio
With lyrics like "...that's not how real men behave. Stand up and say what you need to say, because the world belongs to the brave" and "...running like a criminal, pay for what you did to me. Boom boom bang, say hi to shame because they know your dirty tricks. 'Cause it's better to be judged by 12 than carried out by six." 20-year-old Carley Carpenter proves to be wise beyond her years with a writing style that borderlines harsh truth, young love, wit, advice, and strength. Always putting forth a headstrong attitude, at 15, Carpenter bought a purple guitar and signed herself up for lessons. Once a week she would walk a mile and a half to and from, determined to become a well-rounded artist. Not long after, she was playing at every venue, coffee shop, festival, club, and theme park she could. When she was 17, she took a trip to Nashville to play three shows and caught the attention of fellow singer-songwriters. Like most artists, she showcases strong vocals and solid guitar techniques, but it is her songs that continue to set her apart from the rest.
