Burt Byler is a new “Americana” music voyage by the New Orleans-born and Mississippi-raised storyteller. He's now rounding up musicians to record the project's first single with producer/engineer Brian Hunt. “I think it is a weird and cool mixture of folk and grunge,” says Hunt.
Byler says that his new songs are "less happy and more critical”. Burt's previous work spoke more to the trouble-free and relaxed life of the "South," epitomized by his home-state Mississippi. Now in his thirties, Burt finds himself writing songs, like “Castle of Corruption,” a protest song that tackles slavery in the modern world.
Burt is confident that his newest endeavor will reveal a musical depth that only comes with age and experience. His first single “Slave Dog”, will be recorded with Brian Hunt at El Invernadero in Madrid. Expect an April release date.
