BREAKING EIGHT TO RELEASE FIRST FULL LENGTH ALBUM AND GO ON TOUR

Breaking Eight is a new band that, in one year’s time, has experienced a whirlwind of activity. The group recently finished recording its first self-titled album and is now setting out to promote it by performing for live audiences, beginning in Las Vegas at the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) World Finals Kick off event on Tuesday, November 6th at The South Point Hotel and Casino main Showroom following the Heroes and Legends Ceremony.

Being at the PBR World Finals and performing live is familiar ground for Breaking Eight front man Beni Paulson. He is a former PBR World Finals contestant who wrote and performs the theme music for two television series: Special Cowboy Moments, which airs each Wednesday night on RFD-TV, and Wild Rides, which airs each Sunday night on the COWBOY CHANNEL.

"This music thing is similar to riding bulls,” said Paulson. “If you want to be good you have to work hard and be prepared. I get almost as nervous for big shows as I would for riding bulls in front of large crowds, because you want to succeed and do a good job.”

Future goals for the band include playing for many more for rodeo and bull riding crowds, since a lot of their music is focused on that lifestyle. The music is high energy and edgy, but it is also positive and appropriate for all ages.

“If you don’t have anything good to sing about then don’t sing at all,” said Paulson. “I want people to feel better about themselves after they see us perform than they did before.”

The group consists of Ty Taylor on guitar and vocals, Luke Smillie on drums and vocals, newcomer Jerilyn Wiseman on fiddle and vocals and Paulson on vocals and bass guitar.

Wiseman is a collegiate rodeo athlete who competes in barrel racing, breakaway roping and team roping. One of her first live shows with the band will include a November 3rd fund raising event entitled Cowboys & Candlelight, originally created to raise funds for her college rodeo team at Dickinson State University in Dickinson, ND.

“It’s a lot of fun to perform,” Wiseman said, “but it’s even more fun to perform for a good cause.”

The release date for Breaking Eight’s debut album is late October. For further details go to www.breakingeight.com or the Breaking Eight Facebook page.

Bio

Breaking Eight's lead bass player and front man, Beni Paulson, is also a former PBR World Finals qualifier and spent a good part of his life riding bulls professionally, so its no surprise that the music is edgy and full of energy.

Jerilyn Wiseman is a competitive rodeo athlete who competes in team roping, breakaway roping, and barrel racing. Her precise and unique fiddle style give the band a very groovy appeal, and her personality and rodeo lifestyle adds to the edginess of live performances.

Ty Taylor brings amazing guitar skills that have been honed in Nashville and all around the great USA, and even though he will melt your face right off, his style of songwriting is a little more ballad and emotional.

Luke Smillie is a black belt in drumming. His timing, rhythm, and professionalism keep the crowd energized and wanting more.

These four unique individuals make up the amazing sound and sights of Breaking Eight.
