Bio
Bluestone 739 is all about rendering old time American folk, bluegrass, and good time mountain music. Bluestone 739 takes its name from the bluestone (or keystone) quarried from the Appalachian Mountains and County Route 739 that goes past Hemlock Farms where we began playing music together. We are Maren Swenson Waxenberg, baritone ukulele and vocals, Liz "Violizzy" Taub, fiddle, mandolin, and vocals, Dan Marcus, banjo, guitar and vocals, and Ron Penska, bass, vocals, and the best train whistle you'll ever hear! Sometimes other musical folks come sniffing around to get in on the fun -- guests have included PA State Representative Matt Cartwright, Matthew Check, Randy Light, Joanna Steinberg, Juliet Kwan, Robin Greenstein, Robin Lee Garber, and a few others I can't remember off hand.
We have made two albums: Playing on the Porch (2017) and Crazy Roses (2015) available on CD baby, iTunes, YouTube, and Spotify.
