Barefoot Colby is a Roots Rock/Alt Country Singer/Songwriter from Fairmont WV.His Original music is 100% inspired by Real People, Real Places,Real Experiences on a Lifepath that has went through many high peaks and Dark Desolate valleys. In the mid 90's he was signed with Independent Label Silver Wing Records out of NashvilleTn. But before his Debut CD project could be released the effects of Cocaine Addiction had progressed to a point where he made some very poor choices and was released from the contract. Unable to face the shame and guilt of returning to his West Virginia home. He chose to live on the streets of Nashville for approximately 9 months before being his sister managed to get him home for the holidays and got him clean long enough for his mind to clear and for him to begin rebuilding his life. He reestablished his place on his local North Central WV circuit but it wasn't long till the drug addiction had once again progressed to far and along with a couple of non violent criminal offenses and two different stints in the WV D.O.C. system Barefoot packed his guitar away and concentrated on living the family life instead.Returning to a trade as a Union Cement Mason and making a effort at reconciling with his 3 daughters from a previous marriage and establishing a happy life with his present wife and soul mate Dee(Mrs.Barefoot) and a son & daughter on their 20 acre piece of Almost Heaven that's known as the Freedom Farm.
Fast forward 15yrs some unexpected health issues arise and strangely every other door of opportunity seemed to slam shut at once and Barefoot was left with a return to the only option left to support his family Music. While wrestling with the fact of having to return to the music that he still inwardly loved but also feared the potential pit falls back into the throngs of Addiction and trying to find some other way to live.anything but returning to the stage a very unique & special relationship formed with a puppy that Mrs Barefoot unexpectedly brought home one day unexpectedly. And as the dog grew so to did a Spiritual journey begin for Barefoot and it became clear that maybe not the reasons or where it will lead but all those opportunities were stopped dead for a reason Barefoot was to return to music and now clean and sober and with a energy that can be felt like a physical force whether stage front or seated in the furthest rear corner of the venue Barefoot Colby is on that stage singing the story of real world pain, with real consequences and deliveryling it in a way that with your first listen you know his Authenticity is never in doubt and Barefoot will tell you it's for one thing to get the message that Jesus is A Awesome Cat that can help you no matter how far down you are and hopefully hearing my songs he won't have to reach as far down for you but he would and will.
