Bio

Amanda Jones & The Family Band is fronted by Amanda Jones whose powerful belting vocals have undoubtedly been the key to the band success. From her original material, through various popular covers, to a Sugarland Tribute set, Amanda never lets off the gas. When Amanda takes the stage, the audience cant help but sit up and take notice. Her strong vocals and commanding stage presence demands attention. Amanda has recorded her first 4 song EP here in NE Ohio in the summer of 2013 and is currently recording additional songs in Nashville for her upcoming full length CD release in the spring of 2014. Currently a junior Biochemistry major at The University of Mount Union, Amanda continues to balance her time between featured songwriter nights in Nashville and gigging with The Family Band all over Ohio, PA and West Virginia. Additional highlights among her lengthy resume include lead roles in numerous regional community musical theater productions and preforming "God Bless America" at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Brittany Fenstermaker, plays keys and sings backing vocals. Brittany has participated in many musicals, including many of the leading roles in shows such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Sound of Music and Les Miserables, which also earned her a Marquee Award nomination. She also has a deep and rich background in music as she has been classically trained in voice and studied Music and Theater at both Kent State and Malone Universities. Besides playing keyboard for The Family Band, she also serves as worship leader for Imago Dei Church.

Brittany's husband, Nathan Fenstermaker plays bass, an instrument he picked up while he was visiting his grandpa. He has loved it ever since! Nathan was first chair in his primary instrument, trumpet, all through high school and college and has also participated in Honors Bands at YSU, Kent State and Malone Universities. He was also part of the choir at Malone and was involved in a Stomp group at Southeastern University. Nathan and Brittany welcomed their first child, Aaron, in August 2011 and are expecting #2 early September 2013!

The manager and technical director of the band, Michael Myhal, is no stranger to the professional music scene either. As The Family Band's acoustic guitarist, Michael has performed with a number of bands over the years, including his 10 years of experience as worship music director. Michael strives for the utmost in professionalism as he works with venues to book the band and adheres the following mindset; We strive to be as easy as we can to work with. We appreciate the opportunity to showcase the gifts with which God has blessed us and it is our passion to share that with as many people as we can

Frank McDougal has been playing drums since small child and in live bands since he was a young teenager; Blue Jacket, Tower of Silence, Midnight Alley, to name a few. He has covered a wide range of styles including Concert Percussionist, Classic Rock, Jazz, Southern Gospel, R &B, Grunge, Metal and currently Christian Contemporary and Country. Frank comes from a family with a rich heritage in music; Father, uncles, aunts, grandparents; next time you see him, ask him about it an you will be amazed at the gene pool from which this boy came. Besides drums, Frank is also well versed on the Bass, Guitar, Accordion and vocals. He tells us its all relative and he plays these instruments just well enough to make him dangerous. However, he also tells us this; Seriously, I was saved from myself by my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ 10 or so years ago. At this point, I knew that the gift I was given was for a purpose and no longer just for entertainment. I returned to my bluegrass and country roots as well as Christian contemporary praise and prefer to stay here."

Michael Seifert is the newest member of the band, and he covers guitars and keys. Michaels love for music began when he started piano lessons as a child and grew as he picked up new instruments. He has played tenor saxophone for his high schools marching band and the bassoon for Symphonic Band. He has also played bassoon for the Youngstown Symphony Youth Orchestra for three years and was the principal bassoonist one year. Another musical group Michael is actively involved with is his churchs praise band. He plays guitar for Sunday morning services as well as bassoon for their passion plays. Michael is currently a sophomore at Youngstown State University and is studying Mechanical Engineering.
