Bio

Since 2012 I have been helping indie artist and labels develop methods of release and viral campaign strategies.

While working as an Associate for my law firm in 2013 I began to take cases Pro Bono from Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts. It was in that fulfilling role that I became mesmerized by the 1982 contract of The World’s Famous Supreme Team, who had signed to CBS (currently Virgin). For the amount of Pro Bono work I did for VLA I was awarded a position on New York City’s Empire Counsel (awarded to members who donate an exceptional amount of time to these causes.)

I started working with World’s Famous and eventually left my firm to become their manager and start my own management consulting firm (Burns Consulting Inc. cir. 2013). Through them I was given backstage access to amazing classic acts like Brand Nubian and GrandMaster Caz. World’s Famous Supreme Team connected me to the foundations of hip-hop and the Nation of Gods and Earths Five-Percent Nation which they helped proliferate in the 1980’s.

What I learned most from them was to make sure to keep the music as clean and thoughtful as possible. They would never release music with explicit language or delusional concepts because they were aware that future generations would emulate their content. They made classic music because they keep it original, and stayed true to their beliefs and their team, THE WORLD’S FAMOUS SUPREME TEAM!!

On the other hand I brought them into the digital world, and helped them to make sure they always had effective legal review of all their contracts and deals.

In 2014, I launched a white label called BCG Records, under Burns Consulting Inc., and started to help indie artists like Travis Orlando (American Idol finalist), the Block Brothas, and Sha Mula construct and release projects. Each of those projects have since had realive positive successes based on where the artist began from initially.

In 2016, Burns Consulting Inc.,  would eventually go on to represent other labels both in creating content (Brian Nightingale and ‘Radio Play’) but as well as in legal strategy . Such was the case in 2016 when Scrilla Hill Records was sued by their client, Bianca Bonnie who appeared on Love & Hip-Hop New York.

In 2017 I began to explore my roots in West Africa by way of Nigeria. There I began to connect with Artist like Davido and Yoke Gilla and Suen Kuti (Fela Kuta’s son). I inserted myself by shooting music videos and organizing professional events and after work parties in Lagos Nigeria. Soon I had a community of ex-patriots and West African artist who I keep in contact with consistently.

In 2018, in addition to touring Nigeria and shooting music videos around West Africa, I became involved in a cryptocurrency community project called Koinda (formally Wacoinda). The currency was then freely shared with the community but certain founders were given $1,000,000,000.00 of the currency.

In 2019, with my foundational currency I started a small label called Koinda Records with Burns Consulting Inc as its Publisher. Thus far we have released 4 projects each with a theme of the style of music we select: Koinda Vol. 1, Koinda Vol. 2, Koinda Vol. 2.5 Producers ONLY,  and our first Commercial release Koinda Vol. 3,( a Meditation and Low-Fi Hip-Hop Album).

In the latter part of 2019, after extended water fasting and a significant loss in weight, I began to play guitar, write and record music as a solo indepent artist. My first commercial release was an eccentric Afrobeat party song titled “Black Berry Whine”, (9/9/2019).  That same summer I performed in one of Nigeria’s largest music festivals and released my second commercial song, a trap pop Hip-hop song title “Boss Fit”, (10/20/2019).

Currently visuals are in the works for a 2020 summer to late spring release of Black Berry Whine as well as a Dance/EDM Koinda Vol. 4.
