Bio

June marks one year of the "week from hell" for Johnny Kingdom when his band broke up, discovered he was a victim of credit card fraud from someone close to him (12k), and then his girlfriend broke up with him; all within 7 days. However, through that pain, Accept the Wind was created. This is just the beginning.

After Johnny's metalcore band My Kingdom broke up in June 2016, Johnny turned to writing acoustic songs for comfort and therapy, as he always will. Johnny began posting pieces of these songs via videos on instagram @AcceptTheWind.

In December 2016, Johnny was visiting family in Maryland. While waiting for his brothers to get ready to go see Star Wars: Rogue One, Johnny was scrolling through Instagram and came across a post from Aaron Gillespie (Underoath / The Almost) saying that he was looking to fill a time slot in his studio in Salt Lake City, Utah at the end of January 2017. Johnny has loved Underoath ever since he heard the chorus to "The Impact of Reason" off of "They're Only Chasing Safety" in a friend's car when he was a young teenager. With nothing to lose, Johnny emails Aaron about recording a couple acoustic tracks, and to check out the Accept the Wind video clips. Not thinking Aaron would respond, Johnny gets a couple text messages from a random phone number; thinking it was spam, Johnny just continued scrolling the internet... Finally checked the texts, and of course it was indeed Aaron saying that he'd really love to produce and record Johnny's style.

Johnny flew out to Salt Lake City, Utah on January 24th, 2017 to record 3 songs while living in Aaron Gillespie's studio for the week.

Here Johnny was 6 months later after having the worst week of his life, to recording with one of his childhood idols. Life is amazing. If Johnny never sent that email, he wouldn't have gone to Salt Lake and recorded what would be "June," with Aaron Gillespie. This is a pure authentic reiteration that you should always reach for the stars. You have nothing to lose.

What would be the "June" EP was recorded and produced by Aaron Gillespie, as well as mixed & mastered by Andrew Goldring. All tracks have Aaron Gillespie playing drums and performing vocal harmonies. The transformation of the acoustic songs Johnny had created over the Summer and Fall of 2016 was immense and incredible.

The songs now sounded like a full band. As described by those in the music scene: "It's like Modern American Indie Alternative Punk Pop Southern Country Emo Rock."

Closest resemblance is to bands like Dashboard Confessional, Third Eye Blind, & The Goo Goo Dolls.

Johnny left Salt Lake City with his best sounding material to date in the "June EP;" and it's just the beginning.

Now being released exactly a year after Johnny had his "week from hell," Johnny as Accept The Wind is about to embark on a memorable musical journey with passion and energy that will impact the music scene with a fresh, authentic & genuine nature; that is ever so apparent through the "June" EP.

We look forward to a promising and bright future from Johnny Kingdom (Peters) and his project "Accept The Wind."
