90 Proof

Country music is a way of life for every member of this band; they live it and breathe it. Carey Williams has played drums for 2 decades, beginning with the Luke Williams Band. Working with various Arkansas musicians, he has played honkytonks from Kansas to Tennessee. 2 years ago it was time for a new challenge.

Leaving LWB he began a project doing what not many bands do anymore; playing traditional country music. As things came together he  teamed up with musical veterans of the stage, Jerry Griggs and Randy English. Their styles clicked, but it just wasn't a finished sound. They worked with various singers looking for the right blend; traditional country with an Outlaws' edge. Strait, Haggard & Jones were influences on their style. Hank Jr. and Waylon provided the backbone of their inspiration.

They called Denny Tipton, a singer and entertainer who had toured and played country music in the early 90's but had retired to raise his family 20 years earlier. With old friendships rekindled and a driving musical style, they took to the stage and 90 Proof was born.

Marc Matoska joined the group in the fall of 2015.  He hails from south Texas. In the last 20 years, Marc has toured with various Nashville artist legends including Mark Chestnutt, Gary Allan and Tracy Byrd.  His style and classic flair on steel guitar is a huge addition to 90 Proof.

New music and original songs are on the horizon for 90 Proof as they prepare to release their first EP Album within the next few months and expand their fan base to a regional level.
